Soccer - Johns United!

Soccer was a huge highlight this term, with both the men’s and women’s teams giving it everything. The boys had a fantastic run, finishing 4th overall after some nail-biting matches under the guidance of ex-ressies Pickles and Zac Chadwick. Their season ended in heartbreaking fashion, losing the semi-final to B&G by just one penalty. Meanwhile, the women’s team, coached by ex-ressie Celia, brought energy and spirit to every game, wrapping up in 7th place. Their final match was a close 2-1 battle against Griffin that showed how far they’d come. Week after week, both teams brought skill, determination, and good vibes to the pitch, making soccer a real community sport for Johns this term.

Netball - Side by Side Showdowns!

Netball this term was nothing short of electric! Both the men’s and women’s teams played side by side, creating an incredible atmosphere with the whole college out in force to cheer them on. The men’s team, led by the ever-passionate Toby, put on a thriller that went into overtime against B&G, falling just short in a game that had everyone on the edge of their seats. The women’s team, coached by Jas Kenagy,

had a sensational season with star player Ruby Hyatt, who also represents ACT, leading the charge. They capped it off with a tight playoff win over Wright Hall, showcasing their skill and grit. It was an epic double feature of netball action that truly brought Johns together!

Table Tennis - Johns’ Hidden Weapon!

Table tennis might not get the same hype as some of the bigger sports, but this season showed that Johns has some serious hidden talent! Finishing 8th overall, the team embraced the challenge and had a lot of fun along the way. Training sessions in the JCR were a highlight, with relaxed doubles and singles matches that brought out some surprising skills. It was great to see everyone getting involved, whether they were seasoned players or just there for an annual hit and a laugh. While the competition was tough, the relaxed, social vibe of table tennis made it a brilliant addition to the term’s sporting calendar.

That’s a Wrap!

What a term for Johns sport! Our teams brought passion, energy, and plenty of good vibes to every match. A huge thank you to all the players, coaches, and supporters who made it such a success. We can’t wait to see even more action next term as we move back up the InterHall Table with Inward Bound, Dodgeball, Tennis and Mixed netball. Bring it on!
