John XXIII College was abuzz on Sunday as residents gathered for the highly anticipated launch of the J23 Conversations series, featuring none other than endurance athlete and philanthropist Nedd Brockmann.
With a full house in attendance, the evening’s Q&A session was led by Hugo Bennett, RA President, who guided an engaging discussion on resilience, personal drive, and pushing the limits of what’s possible.
Brockmann, known for his extraordinary feat of running across Australia to raise millions for homelessness, captivated the audience with insights into internal motivation, the power of committing to hard things, and the importance of non-negotiables once a decision is made. His words resonated deeply with the residents, sparking thoughtful questions and discussions throughout the session.
But it wasn’t just words that left an impact—Brockmann’s philosophy of action quickly took hold. Inspired by his message, many students turned up the next morning for Nedd’s signature 4 a.m. run, showing their first steps in embracing the mindset of discipline and challenge he champions. It was a powerful demonstration that the lessons shared on stage had already begun shaping mindsets in the college community.
The J23 Conversations series is designed to bring inspiring voices to the college, and with such a successful debut, the momentum is set for future thought-provoking discussions.
John XXIII College extends its gratitude to Nedd Brockmann for his time and to all residents who contributed to the evening’s energy and engagement.
Stay tuned for upcoming J23 Conversations events as we continue to bring remarkable speakers into our community.
