John XXIII College proudly marked the beginning of the academic year with the 2026 Matriculation Dinner, the first formal dinner of the year and a special occasion dedicated to welcoming our newest First Year residents into the life of the College.
Held in the presence of members of the College Board and staff, the evening reflected the tradition, community, and sense of belonging that define the John’s experience. New residents joined returning students, staff, and leadership for a formal welcome into the academic and residential community they now call home.
Head of College Jas Lincoln opened the evening, warmly welcoming First Years and reflecting on the opportunities ahead, encouraging students to embrace college life, form lasting friendships, and make the most of their time at John XXIII College.
College RA President Penny Friend followed, speaking about community, leadership, and the shared responsibility of shaping a supportive and vibrant college culture. Her address highlighted the importance of participation, connection, and pride in being part of the John’s community.
A special highlight of the evening was an address from alumna Nina Miller, Senior Legal & Compliance Manager and Company Secretary at Assembly Funds Management. Nina reflected on her time as a resident, sharing stories of friendship, growth, and opportunity, and spoke about the enduring connections to College that continue well beyond graduation. Her message reminded students that the John’s experience is not just about their years in residence, but about joining a lifelong community.
The Matriculation Dinner formally welcomed the newest cohort into College life with an evening of tradition, reflection, and celebration that marks the beginning of their journey at John XXIII College.
