Semester 2 has started off strong with a lot of fun IAC Arts events our ressies have gotten around. First was Slam poetry in which we had an impressive podium finish, taking home second place thanks to Matt and Harriet for their poems and performances.
Then our ressies got around the fun and quirky IAC talent show in which we placed an overall 6th for our musical and non-musical talent. Soon the focus shifted to choir which our lovely Music Rep Maddie conducted. Choir was a great night in which around 30 ressies all came together to sing a few songs, including Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’.
The term wrapped up with the IAC spelling bee, which we hosted in our very own JCR. It was great to see everyone supporting the Johns ressies in their spelling efforts!
In addition to all the IAC events, the College Production, directed by the very talented Matt and Archie has begun rehearsing. The production this year will be the hilarious, romantic and highly entertaining ‘Don’t Dress for Dinner’. The production will be performed on Parents Weekend, with more details to come. It is very exciting to watch the play come together as the crew, cast and directors are devoting a lot of time and energy into rehearsals!
